Paul Andrew Ivey, 37, of Washington, DC died April 15, 2016 as a result of injuries sustained in an altercation involving a dispute. He was born January 18, 1979 in Washington, DC, the son of Paul Boxley and the late Ivella Ivey. Paul graduated from North Western High School in 1998. He was an extremely athletic young man. Paul participated in sports such as football, basketball, and track. He was a member of the Oxon Hill Boys and Girls Club, and the New Wave Track Club. Paul was a kind and gentle person. He helped community members with odd jobs and any task to benefit the community, asking nothing in return. Paul’s motivation was only to help those who needed assistance. He was a loving father and adored his three children; Andrew Starks, 17; Sire Ivey, five and Royale Ivey, three. Paul is survived by his father and step mother, Paul Boxley and Priscilla Boxley of Oxon Hill, Maryland; his older brother, Stanley Ivey and sister in-law, Annette Ivey of Washington, DC; sister, Paula Boxley Derrick, his brother in-law, Roy Derrick of Suitland, Maryland; his youngest brother, Lemar Ivey and sister-in-law, Sarah Ivey of Washington, DC. Paul also leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
