Pauline L. Armes was born on June 24, 1923 to Bessie Kay and Lorenza David Cole in Burkeville Va. She passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday April 14, 2010 with family surrounding her.\n \n On July 6, 1939 Pauline married James W. Armes who preceded her in death. From this union they had their precious daughter Dorris Ann Armes Johnson who also preceded her in death.\n \nPauline and Jim both being entrepreneurs owned and operated Jim Armes Towing. After his passing she continued her entrepreneur spirit by being a representative for several independent sales companies, Dutchmaid was a favorite until she passed.\n \nLater Pauline meet and went onto share her life with her beloved Tom.\n \nPauline, Nanny as she was affectionately known, was a thoughtful, loving and caring person who though opinionated was always there to tell us right from wrong, loving her family and grandbabies she knew it was best. Nanny was dependable, compassionate and always willing to lend a helping hand. Nanny loved porcelain dolls, anything purple, and the show Touched by an Angel. Movie night at the Council House was also a favorite which she often spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Another of Pauline�s passions was serving with her husband James with the Silver Hill Lions Club which she continued after he passed. Summers in the mountains with family, was a happy memory she often reflected on. A memory we will keep alive.\n \nAs a member of a huge family, Pauline was preceded in death by 2 Brothers Ellsworth Cole and Aubrey Cole; 2 Sisters Clara Braswell and Lois Kidwell, son Gerald Cole and grandson John Wayne Comstock Jr. To cherish her memory she leaves her brother Wayne Cole, Son Terry Cole, a son in law Clifford Johnson, 7 Grandchildren, Beverly, Robert, Kenneth and wife Donna, Sharon and husband Jamie, Melissa and husband Rob, and Joy. Great-Grandchildren April and husband Tommy, James and wife Brittany, Kenneth Jr, Brittani , James Jr, Matthew , Marcus , Makailla , Jeremiah , Khyree, Kaiya, and Janae. Great-great children, Austin, Caleb, Carter, Kylee Ann and Vincent III and a host of other family and friends.\n \nWe will miss you very much, but will cherish all the fond memories.
