Phillip Carlton Lionel, 48, died at 11:25 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019, at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, Virginia. Carlton was born December 17, 1970, in Castries, St. Lucia, to Phillip and Jane Lionel, and migrated to the US in 1987 and was a longtime resident of Temple Hills, Maryland. He graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, in 1991, and had a 20-year career as a Plumber servicing many DMV families and communities. Carlton is predeceased by his great grandmother, Lillia Augustin; grandfather, Hamilton Lionel; grandmother, Ionee Lionel, and Marie Augustin; great aunt, Martha Augustin; great uncle, Jones St. Hill; uncle, Felix Augustin, and nephew, Colin Marshall. Carlton is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Mandina Lionel; parents, Phillip and Jane Lionel; aunt, Jean August; uncle, Lawrence Augustin; brother and spouse, Cletus and Myrlene Lionel; sisters, Lillia Lionel, Louise Lionel, Leotta Lionel Britton, and Kaydian Hippolyte Lionel; daughters, Lauryn and Carleen Lionel; son, Carlton Lionel; stepson, Randy Serville; nieces, Chelsea Britton, Dalayia Ricketts, Camdyn and Caidyn Lionel, Marlee Marshall; nephews, Malik and Christian Britton, Matthew and Grayson Thorne, Patrice Lindsay; great-nephew, Chase Britton; cousin, Jenny Creavalle; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins in his beautiful homeland of St. Lucia. The family will receive friends for the Viewing of Carlton starting at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, at Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 14908 Main St, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772, Father Thomas G. Lahood will officiate. The funeral services will follow immediately after the viewing and will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd, Clinton, MD 20735, and serving as pallbearers will be Cletus Lionel, Patrick Lindsay, Randy Serville, Malik and Christian Britton, and Matthew Throne. Following the burial, the family welcomes all to gather at Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic School, 4610 Largo Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772, to celebrate the life of Carlton.
