Phyllis L. Blake age 84 passed away on July 24th, 2022. Born June 22nd, 1938 to Arthur and Illdreth Mae Kerr in Eastern Ohio. Survived by daughter Phyllis Ann (Steven) Holderness,
son Robert Blake, daughter Terri Blake, sons Michael and Mark Blake, grandchildren Kenneth Hangliter, Robby Blake, John Holderness, Stephen and Sarah Blake and seven great grandchildren.
Surviving siblings include Gene (Annabel) Kerr, Lloyd (Dee) Kerr, Kenneth (Marsha) Kerr and Juanita Thornton.
She was preceded in death by her above-mentioned parents, brothers Harold Kerr, Vernon Kerr, Richard Kerr, Donald Kerr
as well as grandchildren Toni and Tina Hangliter.
Phyllis moved to the DMV area and lived the majority of her life in Morningside, MD. Her working life was spent in the retail
industry. She had a terrific work ethic and she was an exceptional salesperson winning many awards, prizes and trips throughout her career. Outside of
work she loved flowers, birds, gardening, coins and had a passion for metal detecting. She made the BEST potato salad, pork chops and strawberry pies.
She was a spectator and supporter of all the professional sports teams in the DC Metro area, In particular the Washington Football Team.
Most of all she was a devoted mother and grandmother and always put others before herself.
