CELEBRIATING A LIFE WELL LIVED PORTIA MAILLARD-LAWS JULY 22, 1965 - AUGUST 6, 2015 Portia Maillard-Laws daughter of Carmen and the late Charles Maillard, was born in Trinidad on July 22, 1965. She departed this life on August 6, 2015. Her many interests included painting, traveling, going to the beach and ocean and a love for wild life. She was educated in Trinidad, New York and the District of Columbia where she obtained an Associate’s, two Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health.She married James E. Laws, III on November 8, 2003. After twelve years of marriage, God saw fit to take her home on August 6, 2015. Her loving memory will be continued in life by her devoted husband James and sisters Marcia, Charmaine and brother Rodney. Her beautiful bird, Stinky, will miss her dearly. Many loving relatives and friends will always cherish her memory. PORTIA GOD saw you getting tired and did what He knew was best, He put his arms around you And whispered “Come home to rest.” It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, For a part of us went with you the Day GOD called you home.
