Rachel Marie DeCline

Rachel Marie Aleshire Wallace Decline, 93, formerly of Clinton, MD, passed away peacefully and with compassionate care on October 1, 2016. Marie was born on March 13, 1923, in Stanley, Virginia, to the late Reverend John W. and Etta V. Aleshire. She was the beloved mother of John H. (Patricia) and Kenneth M. (Joanne) Wallace, the loving grandmother of Kenneth M. Wallace, Jr., Kimberly D. (Brendon) Marjoram, and Heather M. (Michael) Garris, and great-grandmother of Bryce and Caleb Marjoram and Savannah Garris. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husbands, Walter Wallace and Albert Decline, sisters, Lillian Couch, Hazel Aleshire and Charlotte Lee and brothers, Earl and Haskel Aleshire, as well as nieces Clara M. Ryan and Sallie M. Barton. She worked for the Arlington County, VA, Tax Department for 25 years and later at Curtis Chevrolet in Washington, DC. Marie loved her family, traveling and her garden. She was a lifetime member of Federal Chapter 38, Order of the Eastern Star, Washington, DC. Graveside services will be held at the Leakes Chapel Church of the Brethren cemetery in Stanley, VA.
