Ralph Leonard Tompkins, Jr.

Ralph Leonard Tompkins, Jr., 73, of Bowie, MD passed away on June 2, 2023.  Born on April 23, 1950, in Washington, D.C., he was the loving son of Ralph Leonard Tompkins, Sr. and Cora Ellen (Williams) Tompkins. Ralph is survived by his sons, Joseph P. Tompkins (Beth) of Lothian, MD, Gary M. Tompkins (Ashley) of Churchton, MD, three grandchildren, brothers, Steven Tompkins (Jamie) of Laurel, MD, Richard Tompkins of Laurel, MD, and his sister Virginia Tompkins of Laurel, MD.

Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army from January 1969 until November 1971, where he received the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooters Badge. After his honorable discharge from the military, he went on to a career as an HVAC Mechanic for NASA. After many years with the government, he retired. In Ralph’s well-earned free time, he enjoyed playing the guitar, reading, watching movies and was active in his church.
