Ramona Bell Smith

Ramona was born in Grayslanding, Pennsylvania on September 8, 1934 to William and Annabell Bell. She graduated from German Township High School in 1952. Ramona moved to Buffalo, NY where she met and married Howard A. Smith. The newlyweds moved to Niagara Falls, NY where they had three children, Cheryl, Christopher and Carla. Ramona separated from her husband, and relocated with her children to Washington, DC. Here, she had a long career with the United States Government until she retired from The Department of Health & Human Services in 1994. In her personal life, Ramona loved taking care of her plants; she would find new plants wherever she went. Ramona also loved shopping, especially on QVC, HSN, and other TV shopping networks. But most importantly, Ramona loved taking care of and spending time with her family. Ramona is survived by her children, Cheryl Smith-Robinson, Christopher Smith (Sandra) and Carla Smith-Brown (Steve); her Brothers William Jr. aka Jody, and Tyrone (Renee); her sisters, Delores and Evelyn; her 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her sister Yvonne Lassiter (Edmund) and her brother Reginald (Tonya).
