On Thursday, December 4, 2014 Randall Blake Neal slipped into the arms of his Heavenly Father and received blessed rest. Randall was born February 13, 1953 in Belleville, Illinois to Millard Fillmore And Dr. Gladys Jamieson Neal. Randall was a big brother to sisters D'Andre and Nadine. He grew up primarily in Washington, DC and attended the public schools there. Randall proudly served in the United States Army, 1st Cavalry, from 1972-1983. Two of his favorite duty assignments were Japan and Panama. He remained a soldier to the end. After leaving the Army, he started working for the United States Postal Service at the Denver, Colorado Air Mail Facility. He later transferred to the Main Post Office in Washington, DC as a Mail Handler and Tour 1 Chief Shop Steward for the Mail Handlers Union. Randall was a talented artist and musician. He played a mean bass guitar with several local bands during the 1990's. Randall was raised in the church and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. He loved to hear the Word and often spent time after church talking with Susan about the sermon. He was an avid Redskins fan who loved sunsets, the moon, fishing, the beach, jazz music, and his precious dogs Mocha, Hershey and Tessa. Above all, Randall passionately loved Susan. She devoted the last few years to caring for her "Ran". He was a devoted family man to their seven children. Randall leaves behind his wife, Susan, father Millard F. Neal, sister D'Andre, father-in-law Ward Cogswell, brother-in-law Anthony Cogswell (Debra) and children Erica, Sade', Dale, Elijah, Diontae, Jamil, and Adrienne. He was Pop Pop to cherished grandsons Tyler and Eric Neal and Poppi to "baby girl" granddaughter Heaven. Additionally, Randall leaves a magnificent host of close family and friends. He is predeceased by his mother Gladys and sister Nadine. Homegoing Services will be held on December 16, 2014 at Kettering Baptist Church. #1 Kettering Drive Upper Marlboro, MD 20774. The Wake will be from 10:00 am - 11:00am. Services starting promptly at 11:00 am. Randall will be laid to rest at Cheltenham Veterans cemetery. Repast immediately following at Kettering Baptist Church. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Randall be made to Fisher House at Andrews AFB 1076 W. Perimeter Road Andrews AFB, Maryland 20762
