Raymond William Carpenter\n \n Passed away peacefully on October 19, 2011 at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington D.C. Ray served honorably in the U.S Army and was a veteran of two wars. After leaving the military, Ray served as an Engineer on many MSTS ships where he traveled the world and made many friends. Ray was born in Webster County W.V., on September 1, 1927. Ray was the oldest of eight children born to Kenneth G. �"Casey�" Carpenter and Eva Marie Ervin Carpenter. He is survived by his son Michael Raymond Carpenter, a granddaughter Briana Danielle Carpenter, a grandson Travis Ray Carpenter, one brother Ralph Kenneth Carpenter, a nephew David Raymond Johnson, and a step-daughter Sharon Ann Savinski. Ray will be sadly missed by all of those whose lives he touched.
