Reginald Lorne Gibson, 54, of Fort Washington, Maryland passed away on December 14, 2016. Reginald was born on September 26, 1962 to the late James H. Gibson and Juliette Cannon Gibson. Reggie – as known by his family and friends was born in Kokomo, Indiana. The second child born to James and Juliette, Reggie was a military dependent and was afforded the opportunity to live in many different areas throughout the United States and overseas to include Turkey, South Carolina, and South Dakota. Reggie and his family arrived to Maryland in 1972, where Reggie received his education in the Prince George’s County school system. Though Reggie was well accomplished, there was a time when he was homeless. Truly a story of “rags to riches”, Reggie was blessed to be in the right place at the right time, and was provided the start of his building maintenance/engineering career from a simple stranger who saw “something” in him. This stranger paid for Reggie’s early engineering education…and Reggie flourished. Reggie honored this opportunity by working hard and giving his best. He never forgot where he came from. Reggie and his brother Ronnie often joked about who was taller, and they both seemed amazed at each other heights…even as they grew older. Tall and domineering, Reggie was a good bodyguard to his sister Julie…even as they grew older - sister could call…and Reggie would begin to roar. Tall and domineering also seemed to attract many women to Reggie. A few have even proposed to him. How he managed not to get dragged to the wedding chapel all these years will remain a funny mystery to us! Reggie enjoyed collecting memorabilia, especially sports memorabilia. He was a car buff and a motorcycle rider, and loved to dress. When you saw Reggie, you saw a dapper, sharp dresser: fresh hair cut, bright white shirts, hard creased jeans…and always, shoes that looked brand new. Let not your heart not be saddened. Though gone to soon, Reggie lived out his “rags to riches” life just like he wanted…and God designed. Reggie’s death provides hope for someone. There’s always hope…. Reggie is survived by his Brother, Ronald J. Gibson (Huntanetta), his Sister, Julie R. Gibson Hart (Gregory), and 2 Nieces, and 1 Nephew, his best friend John, and a host of family and friends.
