Richard Girard Kreinsen, 80, of Washington, DC, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at the home of his beloved companion of 45 years, Alice J. Gayley. He was born in Boston, MA, on June 24, 1932, the youngest son of Charles L. and Mary (Griffin) Kreinsen.Mr. Kreinsen was a Korean War veteran having served as an artillery surveyor with the U.S. Army.He graduated from the Boston College High School, Class of 1949, and Boston College with a B.A. in Economics in 1953. Mr. Kreinsen was a Survey Statistician with U.S. Bureau of the Census, Housing Division for 30 years. Earlier, he spent ten years with the State Street Bank and Trust Company in Boston.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Louis G., Charles J., and Warren F., and one nephew, David.He is survived by one brother, Donald (Loretta) of Rochester, NY; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Kreinsen of Bohemia, L.I., NY; and Alice J. Gayley of Washington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Jane Kreinsen-King, Hingham, MA; Carolyn Kreisen, MD., Quincy, MA; Suzanne Kreinsen (Kevin Leary), Westwood, MA; Michael Kreinsen (Gail), Houston, TX; Kevin Kreinsen, Bohemia, L.I., NY; Charles Kreinsen, Rochester, NY; Eugene Kreinsen, Rochester, NY; Marianne (David) Ogden, Honeoye Falls, NY; Elyse (Steve) Gefell, Mechanicsville, VA; and Elizabeth (Chris) Tang, Phoenix, AZ.Visitation will be at Lee Funeral Home, 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Rd. Clinton, MD from 4 to 8 p.m. on August 26. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on August 27 at St. Dominics Catholic Church 630 E St. SW Washington, DC 20024. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA, on Cape Cod.
