Robert Beverly Brown (Bob) of Brandywine Maryland, went to be with his Lord on October 31, 2021, surrounded by his family. Bob was born on August 8th, 1940, in Fredericksburg Virginia to Gertrude and Percy Brown. He was no stranger to hard work and started in sheet metal work at a young age. He worked for General Sheet Metal and Hamilton & Spiegel -Local 100 before starting his own sheet metal company, U.S. Metal Works, which he ran until his retirement. Some of his proudest accomplishments was fabricating and installing the duct work in the old Post Office building in Washington, D.C., the White House Situation Room, the State Department, and the Washington Hilton. He will be remembered by all that loved him for his sense of humor, his flirtatious personality and for his kindness, generosity, and love of cats. Bob loved to cook and feed those he loved. He really knew the art of steaming crabs and made the best potato salad on the planet. He loved visiting the food bank at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church not only to shoot the shit with everyone he knew there but also to distribute the food to those in need. He instilled the love of the outdoors and working with his hands to his children. He shared his love of hunting and fishing with his son Robert, his love of Construction with his daughter Sharon and his compassion for all critters with his daughter Shelley. He always had one of the best gardens in Croom. In his later years, when the years of hard work had taken a toll on his body, he enjoyed the simple pleasure of just sitting in his truck and enjoying his farm. Lastly, he will be remembered for really knowing how to have a good time and always danced like no one was watching especially to Old Time Rock & Roll.
