Lt. Col. USAF (Ret) Robert "Bob" James Fetsko, 78 years of age born May 26, 1937 and the son of Joseph and Anna (Gigac) Fetsko in Johnstown, PA. Mr. Fetsko was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Pauline (Teplica) Fetsko and nephew Basil Slovesko. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Leona (Goggin) Fetsko of Ft. Washington, Maryland, brother Joseph of Camp Hill, PA., sister Anna Marie (husband The Very Rev. Protopresbyter Michael) Slovesko of Ephrata, PA., children Robert James (wife Pamela Staffer) of Gambrills, MD.,Dennis Mergen (wife Susan Taylor) of Crofton. Md., Judilee Hirsch (husband Patrick) of Onancock, Va. Nicole Ann Zabiegalski of Ashburn, VA. and his beloved grandchildren, Denise Ripley, Joseph Fetsko, Kelsey (husband Ryan) Fetsko McNeeley, Andrew Fetsko, Kimberly Fetsko, Nicholas Zabiegalski, Kelly Fetsko, Jack Fetsko, Jonathan Zabiegalski and Trey Zabiegalski. Loving Uncle of Jeffrey (wife Bobbie) Fetsko, Douglas (wife Keiko) Fetsko and Father Paul (Brian) (wife Michelle) Fetsko, Rebecca (husband David) Slovesko Ream and several-in-laws, their spouses and related nieces and nephews. Robert "Bob" was raised in the Russian Orthodox Church and was a 1960 graduate of Duke University where he was a 4 year member of the football team, Phi Delta Theta fraternity and ROTC. Upon graduation he entered the USAF as 2nd Lt. spending the next 28 years serving his country world-wide including Canada and Germany, where he was honored and proud to serve as Commander of the 7011th Computer Services flight in Neubrucke, Germany. After returning from Canada he spent the next several years in the area of holding assignments between the Pentagon, Andrews AFB and Bolling AFB. Mr Fetsko was heavily involved in the community as a coach and/or commissioner of various youth athletic organizations as well as an active supporter of the Friendly Patriot family. He was a member of the D.C .area's Johnstown Club and proud member of the VFW and American Legion Post 0170. Upon his retirement from the Air Force he spent a number of years as a small business owner in the local area. Bob had a passion for his family. He happily spent countless hours with his children and grandchildren watching them on the fields of the many sports they played. He enjoyed traveling, vacationing and celebrating life with his family and many friends. He lived life to the fullest and loved helping others. Bob was an avid Steelers and Duke University sports fan. "Take the Steelers, go Duke!! and "LIVE IT UP".
