Robert W. Hines

Robert W. Hines 1939 - 2014 Robert W. Hines, 75, of Fort Washington, MD on Monday May 5, 2014 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Washington, DC. Born in Memphis, TN. He was a son of the late Ned and Phoebe Kirby. He was married to Linda L. (Collins) Hines. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in June of 2013. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army having served in the Army Band. He was a decorated veteran receiving numerous decorations including the Bronze Star Medal, Ranger Tab, RVN Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Parachute Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Sharpshooter Badge. After retirement from the Army he worked as a mechanic for the C & O Railroad and he retired as a foreman from Mt. Olivet Cemetery in 2003. He enjoyed working on cars, building projects, gardening, and spending time at the VFW Post #341, Washington, DC where he was a Past Commander. Survivors include his wife, Linda, four children, Ethelie Everett, Bryan Everett (Chekita), William Everett (Diane) and Heather Hines, twenty-one grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
