Robert Edward “Fuzzy” Kessler, age 66 of Owings, MD passed away on August 20, 2010 at his home with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband, of 34 years, of Robin Kessler and loving father of Bobby Kessler and Ryan Kessler. Grandfather of Elizabeth Smith and Robby Kessler. Brother of James and Tim Kessler and Karen Taylor. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.\n \nMr. Kessler lived in Owings over 25 years and retired from the Prince Georges County Board of Education with over 34 years of service. He served as principal of Hillcrest Heights Elementary School, Baden Elementary School and Francis T. Evans Elementary School. He also taught in the Harford County School System. Mr. Kessler was a member of the Maryland State Teachers Union and the Association of School Base Administrators and Supervisors (ASBAS). After retiring from the school system he worked for Ripple’s Service Auto Parts in Upper Marlboro, MD.\n \nMr. Kessler enjoyed coaching little league baseball in Calvert County and was an avid Yankee’s and Redskins fan. He loved being outdoors working his yard, pond and landscape, but most of all he enjoyed being and working with his family.\n \nA memorial service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010, 12 noon at the Lee Funeral Home Calvert, P.A. with his brother-in-law Deacon Roger Taylor officiating. Interment will be private.
