Robert "Bob" Walter Owens

Robert Walter Owens, loving husband of 64 years of the late Willodean Owens went to be with her and his Savior on August 18, 2022. He is survived by his son Scott (Jeanette) and daughter Stephanie (Randy Henshaw); six grandsons, one granddaughter and 12 great grandchildren.

Born in Washington, DC to Raymond and Gertrude Owens, Robert worked in the printing industry his entire adult life. After retiring from the U.S. House of Representatives Office of the Minority Printing Clerk, Robert concentrated on his hobbies of woodworking, hunting, fishing and crabbing, singing to his grandchildren and gardening with Willodean. He was a lifelong member of Pressman’s Local 72, volunteer firefighter, Trustee at Bradburn Methodist Church and Deacon at Dunkirk Baptist Church.  

The family will receive friends at Dunkirk Baptist Church 11275 Southern Maryland Blvd., Dunkirk, MD 20754 on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Gardens Cemetery 10155 Ward Road, Dunkirk, MD 20754.
