Robert (Bobby) L. Taylor was born on May 21, 1940 to the late Idell and Ellen Taylor in Nashville, North Carolina. He passed away on January 6, 2018. Bobby attended school in North Carolina before relocating to the Washington, DC area. Bobby accepted Christ as his Savior with Greater Morning Star Pentecostal Church in Washington, DC and was a faithful member until he became ill. Bobby was a career bus operator who often bragged about visiting 48 of the 50 states. His CDL license was access to the open road where he worked with Allied Van, Gray Lines, Gold Lines, and All About Town throughout his career. His vast knowledge of the history and culture of Washington, DC would often be the topic of conversations as he was always happy to share. His favorite pasttime was going to the racetrack where he would often have his wife and children in tow. Known as “Racetrack” to his friends, Bobby always had the winning horse. He was a family man who loved and adored his children and grandchildren. Bobby created a loving and welcoming home environment where he would cook and bake for his family as well as anyone who would sit and eat with him. Bobby was a respectful and very prideful man. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife Annie (Mae) Taylor who he cared for and adored throughout their marriage. Bobby and Mae were inseparable and loved being with one another. He enjoyed traveling, shopping and cooking with his wife. Anyone who visited their home during the holidays was often surprised by the extravagant holiday decorations. Bobby’s bashful smile and laughter will be missed tremendously. Bobby leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Mae Taylor; three sons, Darryl (Carolyn), Lennon, and Otis (Monica); one daughter Christi, nine grandchildren, Ansche, Ailesia, Khamaree, Brianna, Arianna, Bryce, Courtney, Kassidy, Dallas; one great grandchild, Ashton; two brother-in-laws Clinton and Willie; three goddaughters Teedra, Sherita and Kristen; six nieces, six nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings Estelle, Lucy, Mary and Hayward.
