Robertino Smith

June 9, 1961 — December 23, 2024

Robertino Mickel Smith, also known as Tino, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. Tino was born on June 9, 1961 in Washington, D.C. to the late Mary and Robert Smith. Tino graduated from LaPlata High School and shortly thereafter entered the Army. Tino worked in various auto shops as a mechanic throughout most of his adult life; and he retired as a manager from Lowes. Tino was a good man with many talents. He enjoyed working on cars and had a skill for building and creating patio furniture, lawn and deck chairs, benches, picnic tables, and grills. He also enjoyed watching Maury, Steve Wilkos, Jerry Springer, and reality T.V. shows. He loved cooking and was considered a Grill Master.

Tino met the love of his life, Julie, and they were married on June 22, 2015. They enjoyed spending quality time together either at home in Clinton and every other weekend in Newburg. While in Newburg, he loved cutting that humongous yard and fishing off the pier until he sold his family home. He loved taking care of his dog Toni. Tino was a loving and devoted husband, father, stepfather and he was known as PopPop to his grandchildren.

Tino is reunited in heaven with his mother Mary, father Robert, and his brother Darryl. Tino leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Julie, his children LaToya, Robertino II, and Dewan, his stepson Darnell “DJ”; and his grandchildren Aniyah, Sir Titan, Worth, and Kurrency.
