Roland B. West

Roland B. West 1932 - 2012 Roland B. West, 80, of Temple Hills, MD passed away on Friday December 21, 2012 at Fort Washington Health and Rehabilitation Center, Fort Washington, MD. Born in Washington, DC he was a son of the late Roland A. and Cora (Bond) West. He was married to Ethelene (Wakefield) West. He worked as a tower crane operator, heavy equipment operator, and a long haul truck driver. He was also an expert carpenter working with his father in home remodeling and construction. He enjoyed playing poker, horse racing, watching sports, especially football, and spending time with his family. Along with his wife, he leaves behind to cherish his memories five children, Wanda, Joni, Terri, Darlene, and Roger, a step-daughter, Joyce, eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, four brothers, Gary, Donald, Bernard and Rev. W.Pierce Smith, four sisters, Una, Iris, Jean, and Carol, along with a host of friends and extended family. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
