Romona Louise Hobar of Bowie, MD passed away peacefully at home on October 16th, 2019. Romona was born November 14th, 1950 in Washington, DC, the daughter of Russell and Betty (Brenner) Ziebell. She is survived by her daughter Regina Hobar Chase and son-in-law Steven, daughter Lynn Hobar Gardner and son-in-law Brad and six grandchildren Brenner, Garrett, Gavin, Thomas, Jackson and Emma, sisters Victoria Newberger and brother-in-law Matt and Darlene Moorehead and brother Russell Ziebell Jr. and several nieces and nephews. Romona was a seasoned professional and received numerous accolades and awards during her 25 year career in contract administration. An avid reader, who's interests spanned a wide spectrum of genres and subjects. She enjoyed music and dancing, with country being a favorite. Her effortless creativity and cooking and baking talents were loved by all who had the opportunity to experience them. She loved color as evidenced by her flower gardens, decorations, clothing, and accessories, which often included a hat! A certified Master Gardener who always felt digging in the dirt was time well spent. The passion she had for planting and nurturing flowers and vegetable gardens ran deep. Spending time with family and cuddling grandchildren had created a rivalry for her hands to cultivate. Romona, Mona, Ro and especially Gram Ro was a genuine person and a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed but not forgotten. Family invites friends for a celebration of life at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Thursday, October 24 from 4:30 pm until start of Memorial Services at 6:30 pm.
