Ronald Edward Bobo Sr.

Ronald Edward Bobo, Sr., 74, of Rose Haven, MD passed away at home on October 31, 2019. Born on August 22, 1945 he was the son of the late Amy (Woodburn) and James “Jim” Tiburzi. “Ronnie”, “Ron” or “Bo” to friends, was the devoted husband of his wife Donna. High school sweethearts, they married on June 5, 1965 and celebrated 36 loving years together before her passing on November 26, 2001. Ronnie is the beloved father of Monica “Missy” Ann Brown, Ronnie, Jr. and his wife Shawn, and James “Boogie” Albert and his wife Keri-Jo. He was also the proud grandfather of nine: Brittany Elysia Spicer, Carson Marie Brown, James Andrew Brown, Kayla Ashley Bobo, Brent Cameron Bobo, Allison Ann Brown, Rebecca Lynn Brown, Blake Wynter Bobo, and Connor James Bobo. He was also the brother of Jane Tiburzi, Tony Tiburzi, Marie Dungey, Ray Tiburzi, Cassie Bishop, and Jeff Tiburzi. Ronnie was born and raised in St. Mary’s County where he could often be found on the farm with his grandfather Albert Woodburn, who affectionately called him “Cotton” because of his white blonde hair. He met the love of his life, Donna, while attending Great Mills High School and was a key member of the football team. It was during his teenage years when he found his calling and second love. Ronnie’s second love would be becoming a fireman. His professional career as a firefighter took him to work at Patuxent River Naval Base and for the Washington National Airport Authority. As a teenager Ronnie first became a volunteer fireman in Lexington Park. After marrying Donna and moving out of St. Mary’s County, in July of 1965 he became a volunteer member of District Heights VFD. During his career and thereafter he would receive many awards and recognition, including being honored by District Heights VFD with 50 years of service in 2015. Ronnie enjoyed watching women’s golf and softball, wrestling, Battlebots, and the daily saga of Days of our Lives. He kept himself busy throughout the years by spending time with friends, being actively involved in the activities of his grandchildren, building models, and offering his time, knowledge, and service to the younger generation of volunteer firemen. Tall in stature but gentle in heart, he touched the lives of many. His legacy is continued by his sons who are both professional DC firemen. We love you Pop and will miss you tremendously.
