Ronald "Pete" Lee Jett

Ronald Lee Jett (known to friends and family as Pete) of Upper Marlboro, MD passed away on February 21, 2023 at the age of 84. Pete was born on November 28, 1938 to Jack Jett and Pauline Snellings in Washington DC in the back of a taxi cab on the way to the hospital.

Pete married Ellen Diane Jett (known as Sally) on February 5, 1986. They had one son, Ronald Lee Jett Jr. on October 30, 1985.

Pete was an ASE certified master automotive technician and spent 27 years working for Prince George’s Community College. Prior to working for the college Pete worked at a construction company as a mechanic working on heavy equipment.

Pete loved to spend time in Bentonville, Virginia at his “mountain house”. In his free time he enjoyed helping others, tinkering in his garage, working on cars, gardening, and traveling.

Pete was predeceased by his parents Pauline and Jack and siblings Ferdie, Jack, James, Patricia, Richard, William, and Charles.

He is survived by his wife Sally Jett, son Ronald Jett and fiancée Carolina Röller, brother John Jett and wife Maureen, brother George Jett and wife Gwen Brewer, brother Robert Jett and wife Connie, best friend Eddie Beall and wife Lee, sister in law Diane Jett, aunt Alda Windsor, friend Joan Schweigert, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at Lee Funeral Home in Owings, Maryland on March 4th at 4:00pm. Visitation will be beforehand from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
