Ronald Tilden Sauer

Ronald Tilden Sauer passed away on July 23, 2021 at the age of 80. He was born on July 8, 1941 in Arlington, VA to Lloyd Raymond Sauer and Dorothy Wood Patton. Ron was a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force. After the Air Force he went to work for the Naval Security System in Washington DC for 35 years as a chief engineer. Ron was a member of the American Legion and the Department of Natural Resources Police. Ron was a volunteer with the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 17 years. Ron was a qualified boat crew member, instructor, vessel examiner and assistant harbor safety specialist. While active with the Auxiliary Ron earned four CG Unit Commendations, three Auxiliary Membership Service Awards and the Presidential Unit Citation. Ron is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ginger Elizabeth Sauer. He is also survived his daughter Sherry Lynn Hohl (Raymond), one step-daughter Denise Lynn Dickens, four grandchildren, Anna Marie Woodie (Sean), Wesley Hohl, Elise Hohl, and Ryan Dickens. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Nancy Kramer, and one step-son, Joseph Fender, two nephews and one niece. He was proceeded in death by his parents, and son-in-law Jack Dickens. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 10155 Ward Road, Dunkirk, MD 20754. Pallbearers will be Raymond Hohl, Wesley Hohl, Denise Dickens, Ryan Dickens, Connie Cosgrove and Tom Kidwell.
