Roosevelt Lloyd

Roosevelt Lloyd, MSGT, USMC (Ret.) passed away on December 24, 2019 at the age of 78 in Sykesville, Maryland. One of 5 brothers, Mr Lloyd was born in Rembert, South Carolina on April 4, 1941. He served his country well for over fifty years, first as Marine where he served with distinction for 25 years including tours in Vietnam. He retired as a Master Sargent from the US Marine Corps in 1982. He also served 25 years as a federal employee for various agencies including the US Dept of Interior. Roosevelt or “Velt” known by his close friends and family, was an avid gardener who always shared his love of gardening with friends and family. Velt also enjoyed bowling with friends and bee keeping. He is survived by his stepfather Joe Jackson, Brother Ilyas Nashid, sons Lionel Lloyd and Anthony Lloyd, and daughters April Lloyd and Emily Lloyd, 2 grandsons and countless nieces and nephews.
