“Honoring Our Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend, and Co-worker” Rosalyn W. Blake departed her earthly life peacefully on September 30, 2016, at her home after having been superbly cared for by her younger three children who are affectionately referred to as “The Boys,” She was born August 19, 1961, as the youngest daughter to Janie P. Wagner and Jewell Wagner in Shreveport, Louisiana. Rosalyn was preceded in death by her loving and devoted mother, Janie. Rosalyn was raised in Shreveport where she lived until she went and was graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting as a Magna Cum Laude Graduate, as well as becoming a Member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Owed to her superior scholarship and leadership performance at Southern University, Rosalyn was awarded the following Scholastic Fellowships to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she earned her Master in Business Administration-Finance: Consortium for Graduate Studies, and the highly competitive, prestigious, and sought after University of Wisconsin-Madison Fellow. After earning her MBA, Rosalyn was immediately hired by R. J. Reynolds in Winston Salem, North Carolina as a Financial Analyst at its corporate headquarters. Rosalyn had a stellar career. After demonstrating excellent and superior work performance with two other Fortune 100 Companies (Verizon formerly MCI and World Com) as a Finance Manager, Rosalyn lastly worked for AARP where she continued to embrace, enjoy, and provide phenomenal guidanceand supervision as a dedicated Manager. During her employ with AARP, she earned countless awards and honors for her expertise in financial analyses, accounting, capital budgeting and management. Rosalyn will be remembered for her caring, sharing, dedication, and dependability. She will be missed by countless coaches, football players, and cheerleaders with the Western Charles Charges Football Organization where she served for numerous years as a Board of Director Member and an arduous worker in additional capacities. However, she will be missed and honored most by her children for whom she consistently provided unconditional and phenomenal love and attention. Further, she will be missed, but continuously cherished, by the Wagner, Powell, Blake, Ford, and Proctor Families with whom she enjoyed outstanding and highly regarded relationships. Rosalyn leaves to cherish her memory her Father, Jewell Wagner; Sister, Vallerie Wagner; Children: Jarvis Wagner (LaTonja); Thomas (TJ) Blake, Jr, Phillip Blake, and Jonathan Blake. In addition, Rosalyn will be immeasurably missed by: Aunts; Lois Powell Coleman (Clinton), Jessie Lee Powell Brown, and her following in-laws: Theresa Blake, Levi Blake (Katrina), Kimberly Walton (Rodney), Ramona Thomas (Eric), Eric Blake, Gwendolyn Steele (Elliott), and Estelita (Dee) Proctor, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family, friends, Co-Workers from Verizon and AARP.
