Roxanna Lyn Hardy

Roxanna Lyn Hardy, 57, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully in her home on
September 16, 2023 with family and friends by her side. Roxanna was born May 24, 1966 to the
late William and Martha Blakeslee. She was raised in Forestville, Maryland as the youngest of
four children. She enjoyed simple pleasures in life; sunbathing, cooking, watching crime
television, and spending time with family and friends. She will always be remembered as a
dedicated mother and grandmother, devoted friend, and loving wife.

Roxanna’s admirable strength and courage endured throughout her fight against cancer for
more than a decade. Her final act was the gift of body donation to aid in medical research and
treatment against illness and disease.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Blakeslee, and her
nephew, Joseph “Joey” Rishel.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony Hardy; siblings, William “Billy” (Cheryl) Blakeslee and
sister Tina (Robert) Lowe; her children, Tara Ropel, Tessa (Greg Moscati) Ropel, and Taylor
(Jamie) Smith; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and numerous beloved friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings,
MD 20736 on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home
Chapel. A funeral reception will immediately follow at the American Legion, 3330 Chesapeake
Beach Road, Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732.
