Russell Filmore Mansfield, Jr. “Sonny” of Seaford, DE, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017. Born on November 19, 1934 in Easton, MD to Helen Burkhead Mansfield and Russell Filmore Mansfield, Sr. Russell Mansfield graduated from Easton High School where he met and married Eileen Marie Cox. Russell and Eileen celebrated 60 years of marriage on October, 15, 2016. Russell was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a civil servant retiring from the Department of the Army in 1994. He was an ordained Minister in the Church of God who took great pride in his faith and family. Russell enjoyed playing golf and loved spending time at the ocean. Loving husband of Eileen (Cox) Mansfield; beloved father of David Mansfield (Rita) of Bel Air, MD, Darryl Mansfield (Cheryl) of Owings, MD, Brian Mansfield (Debbie) of Huntingtown, MD, Alan Mansfield of Prince Frederick, MD, and Cheryl Buckler (Robert) of St. Leonard, MD; dear brother of Lois Hoehn (John) of Kansas, and the late Helen Simpson (Bill); devoted Pop Pop of Sarah Braddy, Robert Ballard, Michael Ballard, Justin Mansfield, Kristin Mansfield, Ashley Mansfield, Steven Mansfield, Molly Hotten, Chris Mansfield (Grace), Josh Mansfield, Samuel Buckler, Alexander Buckler, Kimberley Emory, Michele Wills, and Amy Poore; great-grandfather of Aiden Ballard, McKenzie Ballard, Olivia Ballard, Harmony , Damon, Landen, and Faith, Jared Duncan, Anthony, Chase Emory, Jasmine Wills, Dallas Wills, Damize Wills, Ahzyaih Elliott, Tre’Zyaih Allen, Logan Poore and Dylan Poore.
