Ruth Frances Loy

Ms. Ruth Frances Ferguson Loy of Shady Side, MD formerly from Riverdale, MD passed away on July 20, 2023, at the age of 101 at her home.

Ruth was born on December 15, 1921, to the late Edward and Marie Ferguson.

She was preceded in death by her husband George F. Loy in 1971, her son, George W. Loy, daughter, Diane M. Loy, great grandson, Brian L. Loy, Jr., great-great grandson, Jordan Adkins, daughter-in-Law Evelyn L. Loy, and granddaughter-in-law Denise Brown. She was preceded in death by her 3 sisters, Helen, Marie & Eddiebit.

Ruth retired from WSSC in Hyattsville, MD.

She is survived by her grandsons, Richard Loy (Laura)of Saint Leonard, MD and Brian Loy, Sr., of Lusby, MD, granddaughter Lisa Loy-Newman (Rusty)of Grasonville, MD, 5 great grandchildren; Tiffany Loy (Buddy) of Pasadena, MD, Ashley Wallach (Tony) of Prince Frederick, MD, Brandon Loy (Jackie ) of Lusby, MD, Garrett Loy of Lusby, MD & Cheyenne Caldwell of Grasonville, MD, 9 great-great grandchildren; Ciara Tongue, Alexis Tongue, Kaileigh Adkins, Braceson Adkins, Madelyn Wallach, Taylor Wallach, Sophia Wallach, Elena Loy & Olivia "Ruth" Loy.

She is also survived by her devoted son-in-law Don Collins. She will be remembered by her beloved niece Nancy Dillon. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings MD 20736 on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm where a Funeral Service will be held at 8:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private at a later date.
