Ruth Webb

Ruth Moore Webb, 98, of Berlin, MD passed away April 7, 2023. 

Ruth was born May 21, 1924 in Meadows, MD to the late Harry and Pearl Moore.  She worked as a church secretary throughout her life at Forest Memorial United Methodist Church, since September of 1963, and worked for 14 ministers. Church and her church family were a big part of her life. She married her husband Joseph P. Webb in 1944, and Joe died in June of 1988. Her family also brought her much joy. Will her first grandson started calling her "Hon" after hearing her husband Joe saying it when he was 2 yrs old. 

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Katherine Decker, who was adopted by Ruth at 4 1/2 months, and passed away in March of 2020. She was also predeceased by 2 siblings, her older brother Roy Moore, who passed away in November of 2006, and her younger sister Doris Tucker, who passed away in December of 2001. 

 

She is survived by her 2 grandsons, whom she called the highlight of her life, William Decker, and Richard Hood, Jr. 

 

Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Ave. Suitland, MD 20746 at 2:45pm on Monday, April 17, 2023.
