Samantha Ahwah-Arco

Samantha Barbara Ahwah Arco was a compassionate and creative soul dedicated to helping others through art and mental health advocacy. Born in Clinton, Maryland, she was a proud first-generation American who pursued her passion for art therapy, earning degrees from Bowie State University and George Washington University. As a licensed counselor and art educator, Samantha worked tirelessly to bring healing and joy to children, seniors, and underserved communities.

She married the love of her life, Adrian Arco, in 2020, and together they shared a life filled with laughter and adventure. Samantha was also a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who cherished her family and her beloved Boston Terrier, Obie.

In August 2024, she faced a sudden health challenge with remarkable strength and resilience. Despite her fight, she passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 33. She is survived by her husband, Adrian; her mother, Barbara; her sisters, Candice and Chantal; and her nieces, nephew, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Phillip, and beloved dog, Obie who both passed during her hospitalization.

Samantha’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the art she created, and the kindness she shared.

In honor of Sam’s vibrant life and love of color, florals, and prints, we kindly ask you to celebrate her spirit by wearing something colorful, floral or bright (pink & orange were her favorites) rather than black to her service.
