Sandra Wiseman Chornesky

Sandra Wiseman Chornesky died suddenly on December 13, 2024 during an extended recovery from a fall sustained at home and a period of illness. She was born on May 9, 1950 in Washington D.C. to Albert (d. 1994) and Lillian (d. 2019) Wiseman of Wheaton, Maryland. She had a maternal twin sister, Judith (Zuckerman, d. 2023) and an elder sister, Janet (Bens) who she predeceased. Her father was the owner and proprietor of a small hardware store in the community. She also worked for the United States Department of Health and Human Services in various offices as an Executive Secretary for over 40 years.

She met Adam Brett Chornesky at a Jewish dance function, and they were married on January 31, 1982. They had one son, Michael, who was born in 1984. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister who enjoyed singing, the beach, the music of ABBA and the Carpenters, and classic television programs of all stripes. She also harbored a deep spirituality in the form of her Jewish faith instilled in her by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Adam; her son, Michael; her sister, Janet; nieces and nephews, and other extended family. She was 74 years old and will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm where a Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 10155 Ward Road, Dunkirk, MD 20754.
