Sandra Gwendolyn Robinson was born June 4, 1947 to the late Geneva White and Jack Johnson in Pittsburgh, PA. She departed from this world on May 31, 2024. Her primary years were spent in North Versailles surrounded by family. Upon the marriage of her mother to the late Theodore White, the new family relocated to Philadelphia. She completed the rest of her schooling in Philadelphia PA. It is while working at Fidelity Bank she met her future husband Otis Robinson.
Sandra relocated to Maryland with Otis where they eventually wed and had their only child, Gevenia. Her life was filled with a few different career paths however no matter the job she left an indelible mark wherever she worked. While at Fidelity bank she met and made another connection to her life long friend and “sister” Joanne Elliott. When Sandra worked at the now defunct Metrocall she became known as “Mom” to her many co-workers.
After retirement she continued to work and volunteer her time. Sandra also worked with her sister, Mavis Turner, at More Than Conquerors Art for a short while. During her tenure at MTC she discovered painting and adopted the name “Incognito” as her signature. Sandra also decided to help Gevenia with transporting her grandchildren Xavier and McKenzie back and forth to school. Even though this could be considered mundane it was a time of bonding for both grandma and grandchildren. Their connection was incomparable, a truly beautiful bond with both Xavier and McKenzie up until she passed away.
Her friendly and kind personality, terrific diction, great cooking and strong support are just a very few of the many personality traits her family and friends will miss. Even while she was in the hospital, Sandra with her vibrant personality was forming relationships with the staff. They would pop in for a chat or stay a while longer just to talk.
Sandra would often spend her free time with her daughter and grandchildren. Some of her hobbies included water aerobics, yoga, meditating, making new friends, trying new restaurants, traveling and of course spending time with her family.
Sandra is preceded in death by her husband Otis Robinson and sister Laurel McMahon but leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted daughter Gevenia Fox (Vincent); loving grandchildren Xavier Blair and McKenzie Blair; her sisters, Mavis Turner (Rodney), JakeeRose Johnson and Cynthia Stingley; her brothers Charles Johnson and Earnest Johnson, best friend/“sister” Joanne Elliot; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
