Sara Heredia Hawkins

Sara Heredia Hawkins, age 47, passed peacefully from life theevening of January 17th after a gradual decline in health. Shepassed at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center inBethesda, Maryland. Sara was surrounded and supported byher loving family during the last days of her life.Sara was born on August 14, 1967, in Panama City, Panama,to Victoria and Franklin Hinds. On 7 February 2002, shemarried Tony Damon Hawkins in Hampton, Virginia. She livedin many different places – including Columbus, Mississippi,Okinawa, Japan, Newport News, Virginia, and Aviano, Italy –before settling in Joint Base Andrews in 2012. After fourpermanent duty location changes, Sara, and her husband Tony,planned retirement May 1st 2015 at Joint Base Andrews whereshe lived the remainder of her life.Survivors include her longtime friend, Liza, nieces Denise andAubrielle, and nephews Eduardito and Ty, her two sisters Silviaand Yamileth, her brother Alejandro, brother in-law Shannon,sister in-law Tia, father in-law Sheffield, mother in-law Lindaand devoted husband Tony.She is preceded in death by parents, Franklin and VictoriaIbargues.Anyone who knew Sara knew how loving, kind hearted, loyal,hard working and dedicated she was to her husband, siblingsand place of employment.
