Sean Robert Smallwood was born November 13, 1992, in Cheverly, Maryland. He grew up in Landover, Maryland where he attended Charles Herbert Flowers High School. Growing up his friends called him by his last name “Smallwood” and sometimes by his nickname “Smurf”. In his youth, He loved and played football for the Boys & Girls Club, playing the position of wide receiver. He also spent many days in and around his neighborhood taking on small jobs at the nearby grocery store to earn money for snacks and his favorite fast food, McDonald's.
While in high school, he met his high school sweetheart, Felicia Greene, later during their relationship they would become the proud parents of his only son, Sean Rashad Smallwood. Sean was a great father, and his son meant the world to him. Sean was a kind and caring person, always protective of the people he loved, especially his family. He was a big kid at heart and loved being that big kid for his nieces and nephews. He worked as a cable technician for Comcast Corporation for several years. When he was not working, Sean enjoyed cooking, drawing, music, and spending time with family and friends.
Sean departed this life unexpectedly and way too soon on Sunday, May 1, 2022. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jacqueline I. Smallwood, and grandfather, Joseph R. Smallwood IV.
Sean will be missed by everyone whom he has touched. Sean was survived by his mother, Dwanda L. Jones; father, Joseph R. Smallwood V; grandmother, Wanda B. Jones; sisters: Taja, Dominique, and Michelle; brothers: Marcus, Marquette, and Christopher. A host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and other family members, and many friends.
