On September 13th, 1975, our star was born in Washington, DC to Francina (Tina) Towns and Robert Brown. With much love and blessings, they chose to name her Sherre Giovonni Burton. Sherre G. Burton was baptized at a tender age while at Living Word Ministry. She attended Galilee Baptist Church at a later age and always knew the mighty love of God in her heart. She had faith in God. Sherre was educated by the Washington, DC and Maryland public school system. She graduated from Potomac High School. She worked at Kaiser Permanente for many years. She had great work ethics and loved and was loved by her constituents. Sherre was passionate about coloring, writing and decorating. She wrote a lot about her life story in her journal and a stickler about organization and neatness. She loved to be stylish and glamorous from head to toe. She would not go anywhere without her hair and makeup being done. She loved to encourage others to do the same. Cooking was one of her favorites and to show you her way of doing it. She was an animal lover, she loved her Hercules (cat). Shopping made her happy and definitely when it was with her mother (JACKPOT!). Sherre was unique, very caring and beautiful inside and out with a smile that would light up a room. She was fun and bubbly. She was very nurturing. She kept an open door and would give you the shirt off her back but she would also want some of yours too. Family, food and fellowship was Sherre’s life. She loved serving and cleaning at any function. She treasured her family and ALL her friends. The legacy of her love and her name (Giovonni) will last forever because it was endless. Sherre will be adorably missed by family and friends. After fighting a good fight through sickness and pain, she was called home on February 7th, 2022 to join her grandmothers Marlene and Janet, husband Jameel Bilal, granddaughter Khori Rose and grandson Maaz. Sherre leaves to cherish her son: Corey Burton (Son-Son); mother: Francina Towns (Errick); father: Robert Brown (Renee); brothers: Robert Jr., Marshay, Cory, Marvin, Errick Jr., Curtis and Marcus; sisters: Rachelle, Marie, Robin and Charnita; grandchildren: Giovonni, Amira, Jase and Maizel; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles and a host of family, extended family, and friends.
