Sherry Linder passed away peacefully on the evening of December 21st, 2023, after a courageous two year battle with breast cancer. She was 62 years old. Sherry's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were lucky enough to really know and love her, understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here.
Sherry had a monumental love for all creatures. She was an avid birder, and feeder of feral animals. She loved the outdoors. Before she got sick, she could often be found fishing on her canoe. She could fish for hours. She loved buying/selling antiques. She proudly ran a small but successful antique shop in St. Leonard. She enjoyed restoring old furniture. Her amazing artistic abilities allowed her to make everything she touched more beautiful than before. She loved music and true crime TV. One of her favorite things to do was curl up with a blanket on the couch and watch a good horror movie. She loved gardening. She created a beautiful oasis of flowers just outside her screen house. She would often sit out there with her little dog, watching the birds and admiring her flowers.
She loved her husband of 35 years, who cared for her until the very end. He was there for every appointment and every procedure, ensuring she was as comfortable as possible throughout.
She loved her little dog, Ivy. Who accompanied her almost everywhere and provided her emotional support and unconditional love whenever she needed.
She loved Pat and Bob, who were like parents to her throughout her entire life.
She loved her children and grandchildren most of all. She loved watching the grandchildren play. Despite being very ill the last few months, she managed to be there for every game and birthday party. Just being with family was her favorite pastime.
She fought hard and tried multiple chemo treatments and even participated in an experimental trial, just to get as much time as possible with her family. We will always remember her crude sense of humor and her random knowledge of literally everything. Her love language was gift giving, and we will cherish every gift we ever received from her. We will remember her fierce protectiveness of her children and the way she took in friends/family when they needed help. We will remember that she was always there for her loved ones, no matter what. We will continue to love her forever. We take comfort in knowing she is no longer in any pain. She will be missed dearly.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Patric Linder. Her children, Robby (Rebecca), Jacqueline (Shane), and Victoria (Scott), and her 6 grandchildren, Madalee, Scarlett, Elijah, Selene, Faye, and baby Schuler. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents Irving and Michelle Sandy, her brother Leroy Sandy and her Uncle Bob Powell.
Sherry's wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to your local animal shelter or rescue.
