Shirley Ann [Jones] Day went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the age of 84. Life long resident of Maryland, Shirley graduated from the old Suitland High School. She retired from the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Department as the administrative assistant to the Colonel/Chief Assistant Sheriff. She served the Lord, along with her husband, working with the church youth groups throughout the years. Shirley always had a smile and unlimited love to share with her family and friends. Beloved wife of Clarence Day, the love of her life, whom she met as a teenager at a Youth for Christ meeting. They dedicated their lives to one another and to the Lord. They chose Romans 8:28 as their life verse and always included the verse in the signature of the many cards and letters they sent to family and friends. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in April. Much loved mother of Ruth (husband Michael) and Robert (wife Lisa). Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (husband Dakota) and April (husband Kalil) and great-grandmother of Kahmen and Sage. Sister of Pearl Faulkner, Dennis Jones, sister-in-law Betty Sclater, and loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Frances Jones, her sister Doris (“Skeets”), and her brother James (“Buddy”). We will miss her so much, however she would quickly remind us we will see her again in Heaven one day! We hold dearly to the promises God makes and know she is presently with the Lord and her friends and family that went before her. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose”….Romans 8:28.
