"We are born of love. Love is our mother.” ~ Rumi Shirley Ann “Jimmy” Clagg Dulaney, age 81 of Brandywine, MD passed away on Thursday, May 02, 2019. She was born in Marytown, WV, to the late Elmer Clagg and Vicie Stevenson Clagg. Her nickname was “Jimmy” or “Jim” in later years. She attended the Capitol School of Nursing in Washington, DC and upon graduation, she had a long career at D.C. General Hospital, where she made many longtime friends. She was a loving wife and mother of three. She was a devote Christian and honored her Faith. She was a champion competitive trap shooter, loved to read, work the N.Y. Times weekly crossword puzzle, watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, play scrabble, slot machine bus trips with the widows group from church, afternoon tea with her Red Hat chapter, monthly luncheons with the “LEO’S”, TaiChi, and traveling the world when she could. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert T. Dulaney, Sr.; who passed away in 1997. She is survived by her children; Sharon L. Dulaney, Robert T. Dulaney, Jr., and John P. Dulaney, siblings; Elizabeth A. Jones, Robert T. Dulaney, III, Rachael Dulaney, Christopher and Stephen Dulaney, siblings, grandchildren; her sister Marietta Clagg Young of Charlottesville, NC and Vicki Diorio Blose, niece and several nephews. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held with family and friends. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Chrildren’s Research Hospital or American Lung Association Shirely’s honor.
