Shirley May Proctor was born January 22, 1935 in Baltimore, MD to Lueviece Toca (deceased) and James Morton (deceased). She was the beloved wife of Joseph Ernest Proctor.
Shirley was born in Baltimore, but she eventually moved to New York, where she graduated from Wadleigh High School in Harlem, NY. She held down various jobs while she was living in New York until she met the love of her life, Joseph. They were married on January 2, 1954 (69 years). She was a loving and devoted wife.
Shirley was a loving and mild-mannered person who loved to do crossword puzzles, she loved to draw, going to Bingo, and she was a member of the St. John’s Ladies Auxiliary and the St. John’s Senior Lunch Bunch. She also loved taking the casino bus trips with the St. John’s Senior Lunch Bunch.
Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Lueviece Toca and her father James Morton. Shirley leaves to cherish her memories: loving and devoted husband, Joseph Proctor; daughters: Juanita Faucette; Jo Anne Proctor (deceased); Janice Brown; Jacquelyn Proctor (deceased); Joan Glenn (John “Al”), Julie Smith (Robertino); Joycelyn Copeland (deceased); Jynell Scranage (Lawrence “Larry”); Jayne Proctor and Jennifer Williams (Michael); 21 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
