Shirley was a dedicated homemaker for her family. While raising two children, Shirley became a licensed day care provider starting a nursery for other children. Both Shirley and Bill were instrumental in the Bond program that made it possible to build the current church building and later took a personal interest in helping obtain a new parsonage.Shortly after her husbands, Bills retirement, they moved to Clarksburg, West Virginia. While in Clarksburg, they transferred their letter to the Clarksburg Baptist Church.Shirley and Bill returned to Maryland in 2000 and settled in Calvert County.
