Stephen Emanuel

Stephen Emanuel "Steve," (age 69) of Clinton, MD, passed away on January 26, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Elaine and devoted father of David. He was preceded in death by his parents William J. Emanuel and Alice Wise Emanuel. He is also survived by several cousins and a host of friends. Steve was a teacher with the Prince George's County school system for 30 years. From September 1966 to June 1975, he taught eighth and ninth grade social studies at Shugart Junior High School in Hillcrest Heights, MD. From September 1975 until his retirement in December 1995, he taught at Gwynn Park Junior High School in Brandywine, MD, also teaching eighth and ninth grade social studies there. He coached the Gwynn Park Junior High School boys’ baseball team in the late 1970’s and also coached both the Friendly and Gwynn Park High School girls’ softball teams in the 1980’s. He was an avid sports fan, following with great enthusiasm the Washington Nationals, Orioles, Capitals, and Redskins and often reminisced about the Washington Senators. Steve was a special friend to all who knew and loved him.A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. at Bethany Christian Church 7128 Allentown Rd. Ft. Washington, MD 20744 with The Reverend Dr. Robert K.
