Stephen J. Lennon, nicknamed “Kool,” of Bridegeville, DE passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at the age of 71. Stephen was born on September 26, 1948 in Washington, DC to Vance and Isabelle Lennon. In 1969, he married his high school sweetheart, Jan Lennon. Stephen was a proud retired Prince George’s County police officer and enjoyed sharing stories about his time with the department. After his retirement, he worked for the United States Attorney’s Office in Alexandria, VA. Stephen lived in Calvert County for 35 years where he raised his family. During this time, he enjoyed coaching baseball and playing golf with friends and his two sons. Stephen enjoyed his retirement in Bridgeville at Heritage Shores, where he lived next to the golf course and was a member of the “Dirty Dozen”. Stephen, also shared many memories with his family in Ocean City on his pontoon boat, going to sandbars and Smitty McGee’s, one of his favorite restaurants. Stephen is survived by his wife, Jan, with whom he celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary in May; his two sons, James Lennon and Chris Lennon; his sister, Patty Desimone; his daughter-in-law, Denise Lennon; and his five grandchildren: Alyssa Lennon, Morgan Lennon, Vincent Lennon, Sophia Lennon, and Stella Lennon. Viewings in memory of Stephen will be on Tuesday, November 26 at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Covenant Community of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1601 W. Mt. Harmony Road, Owings, MD on Wednesday, November 27 at 11 am.
