Steven E. Donaldson of Marathon, Florida, formerly of Calvert County, died July 20th at the Burnett - Calvert Hospice House in Prince Frederick, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 18, 1947 to the late Edward Donaldson and Mary Froman Donaldson. He is survived by his brother Robert and his wife Joan of Edgewater; his brother Timothy and his wife Sheila and sisters, Lynn Kuhn and her husband Charles and Robin Whitman and her husband Stephen, all of Owings; his loving Aunt, Doris Froman, of Silver Spring, and many nieces and nephews. Steve resided in Calvert County for 30 years prior to moving to Marathon in 2005. He served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968, and was stationed aboard the USS Reeves in Okinawa, Japan. Following the service, he became an electrician with IBEW Local 26, and went on to become co-owner of Merical Electric, a successful contracting business in Upper Marlboro, MD. Steve loved boating and took great pride in helping to construct his own 50’ bay built boat, the “Miss Lori” in Solomons. He was an avid fisherman, obtaining his Charter Captain License in the mid-nineties, and was an active member of the Solomons Yacht Club for many years. He cherished the many friends he made in Calvert County and felt blessed to return to Calvert to be with his loving family in his final illness. Family will receive friends at the Lee Funeral Home Calvert in Owings on Thursday, July 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1601 West Mt. Harmony Road, Owings, on Friday, July 27th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Hospice, P.O. Box 838, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
