Steven J. Post “Steve”, of Hughesville, MD passed on November 30, 2020 at the age of 75 years. Born in Ardmore, OK the son of Ruth Lavern and Hamilton Ringland Post. The family moved to Washington, PA when Steve was young. Steve entered the United States Air Force after graduating from high school. He attended school there for seven months learning Aircraft Equipment. After serving for four years, Steve re-enlisted for another four years at Andrews Air Force base. He was honorably discharged, receiving many awards and decorations. After serving eight years of active duty, Steve re-enlisted and served eighteen years with the DC Air National Guard. When his military life ended, Steve started working at U.S. Army Harry Diamond Laboratories in White Oak, MD, where he was an electronics technician at their lab. There he spent the next 17 years before retiring with a total of 41 years of service for the US Government. Steve enjoyed watching TV, reading and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Beloved Husband of Elsie Cecelia Post; Loving Father of Andrew (Jennifer) Post of Owings, MD, Francis (Julie) Post of MD, Debra (Allan) Tucker of Hughesville, MD, John McKenzie of Front Royal VA, Richard McKenzie of Mechanicsville, MD, Michael (Laura) McKenzie of Mechanicsville, MD, Bobby (Donna) McKenzie also of Mechanicsville, MD and Ronnie (Tammy) McKenzie of Lexington Park, MD; Dear Brother of Anna Knestrick and Mark Post both of PA; Also survived by many grandchildren, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Steve was also predeceased by his daughter, the late Annie Post and daughter-in law, the late Sharon McKenzie. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623. NEW GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDING VISITATION / SERVICES. - 50 to 75 people max at any given time in Funeral Home. - Limit visitation to 15 minutes in visitation room to allow for others to express their condolences. - Funeral Services in Chapel limited to 70 people with four (4) people per pew. - Masks and six foot social distancing still applies.
