Susan Kathleen Mueller

Susan Kathleen Mueller, age 59, of Owings, passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 5, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Eric and their children Lauren, Sean and Joseph; her sisters Karen Collins, Carolyn (Lorenzo) Ascoli, and Allyson (Mike) Small; and her mother Mary Collins. Susan is preceded in death by her father, Michael Edward Collins.

A graduate of High Point High School in 1982, Susan obtained her degree in Nursing in 1993 and began a long career as a registered nurse. For Susan, being a nurse was more than a job; it was who she was, caring, compassionate, giving, and kind. She had a unique ability to treat the soul as well as the person. Settling in Southern Maryland, Eric and Susan raised their kids, participated in youth sports, girl scouts, and served their local parish as volunteers and catechists. If you needed help, Susan was there; if it needed a volunteer, Susan was there. She loved being able to give of her herself and her time. She was the best of us and earned her rest through service to her community, her family, and her faith. Our grief and sorrow at this loss can not be measured, but we find comfort in our faith and the knowledge that our girl is united with our Father in heaven and her beloved father, Michael.

The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane Owings. MD 20736 on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church 1601 W. Mount Harmony Road Owings, MD 20736 on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery.
