Sylvia Bell was born on November 23, 1939 in Washington, D.C. to the late Alfred and Cora Bell. She started her education at Sojourner Truth Elementary and completed her education at Fairmont Heights High School. Sylvia accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. She attended St. Paul's Methodist Church as a youth, where she served on the Junior Usher Board. After she grew older, she joined the New Bethany Baptist Church, where she was a long time member of the Senior Usher Board, until illness prevented her from attending regular services. Sylvia worked for Aramark Services at the State Department in Washington, D.C., where she received numerous commendations and recommendations. She retired in 2007. Sylvia was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. She enjoyed attending games, especially the rival games between the Cowboys and Redskins. She also loved attending Wizards games and performances at the Sight and Sound Auditorium. She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Bell. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters; Linda and Brenda Bell, two brothers; Alvin and Daniel Bell and a sister Beatrice Boozer. A visitation will be held in the chapel at Lee Funeral Home, 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, MD on Wednesday, June 30 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a funeral service at 11:00 and burial at National Harmony Memorial Park, 7101 Sheriff Road, Hyattsville, MD.
