On the morning of September 22, 2015 Theresa slipped quietly and peacefully into pain free eternal rest with her savior Jesus Christ. Theresa was born in Pottsville Pa. to Alvin and Catherine Bixler. She lived on a dairy farm in Tumbling Run, Pa. her first 11 years then moved to Oxon Hill, Md. in 197. She loved playing the clarinet in the Oxon Hill H.S. concert band. She graduated from Suitland High School in 1964. In 1967 she was hired by the Library of Congress Photoduplication Service. This is where she met Bruce. After a whirlwind courtship she married her Knight in shinning armor Edward Bruce Swain at Forest Memorial UMC on October 18, 1969 in a formal candlelight service. Her hobbies and interests included beading, jewelry making, crafts, flowers, gardening, singing in the choir at Faith UMC and her Koi fish. She was predeceased by her parents, in laws Clarence E. and Merle Bruce Swain, her children Eric Bruce and Amy Louise Swain, her former brother in law Calvin McConkey, brother in law Rick Robinson and her pets Prince Runt and Lady of Bensville Melodies both Sheltie's. She is survived by her loving husband Bruce, her sister Cathy Robinson of SC., her nephew Alvin McConkey, her neice Sherrie Altman, great nephews Luke and Eric Fockenberry, her aunt Madeline of Crawford Pa. and other cousins and extended family members.
