Thomas Russell Grubbs

Tom passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 29, 2023.  He was born January 14, 1952, in Prince Georges County, MD. He grew up in Mount Rainier, MD where he attended Northwestern High School.

Tom and his soulmate, Vera (Beatrice) Grubbs, were together for 30 years. They raised their family in Prince Georges County before moving to Calvert County in 1994. Tom retired after 35 years as a Welder at Sonco Fence in Riverdale MD.

Tom was a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed watching football, playing horseshoes, fishing, and gambling.

Tom was the son of the late Anna May (Nicholson) and late Russell Harry Grubbs. Loving husband to the late Vera (Beatrice) Grubbs. Stepfather to Don Wall Jr. and the late Mark Wall. Father to June (Walton) Eckenrode and father-in-law to Mark Eckenrode. Brother to the late Linda (Grubbs) McCormick. He is known as "PapPap" to 6 Grandchildren: Jessica (Paul) Wagner, Brittany Wall, Karen, Michael, Andrew, and Bradley Eckenrode. Great Grandfather to 5 children.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Holland Point Civic Center, 919 Walnut Ave, North Beach MD on Sunday August 27, 2023 from 12pm - 4pm.
