Thomas “Pop” Nairn (72) passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at his home in Huntingtown with his family by his side. He was the loving husband to Jo Ann Nairn, beloved father to three children; Thomas Francis Nairn, Jr. (Danamarie), James Nairn (Joan), and Susan Kloss (Rick). Grandfather to; Thomas III (TJ), Kevin, Christine, Ryan, Gabrielle, Mia, Angela, and Shannon. Great Grandfather to Nathan.\nThomas married his high school sweet heart, Jo Ann, after graduating Anacostia High School in 1958. They were married for 52 years and were blessed with three beautiful children, 8 grand children and 1 great grandchild.\nThomas and Jo Ann have resided in Huntingtown for 31 years. Pop was very active in his children’s lives, coaching sports and eating hotdogs at their games. He was a loving and supportive father and a dear friend. He was a parishioner of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Thomas retired from PEPCO after 45 years of service.\nThomas was a recipient of two heart transplants, one in 1990 and one in 1993.
